I've had a pair of winners on my old girl for about 6yrs & it has been dropped a bit, no real damage & couple of thinks i like about them is they are thick strong well welded aluminium plus they have a bit more surface are & liquid capacity I've had NO leakage problem at all, i did have to manipulate the mounting points a bit, i have a spare pair in the garage just incase, plus i have a set for the Sherco.
Any product from China is a gamble. If you get 10 years, then you got lucky. Ive bought all kinds of Made in chiner products and 85% failed. Now Made in Japan is the holy grail of anything, trouble is Chiner has the market strangled and that is uncool. Glad your radiators are working for you. I orded a ebay side cover for my 89 250r because mine was rotted out from the last owner, he just rode it hard and put it away wet. The cover went on ok, but the powervalve cover threads are wrong, and the water pump outlets keep leaking. So im going to say Made in chiner for sure. Time for JB Weld epoxy to fix a shiny new clutch cover...bummer deal!
I've worked in china & known a few people who have had products made in china, there are basically 3 levels of product, cheap/poor quality, mid range cost/ fairly good quality, top price/ very good quality. Problem is a lot of people are tight arses & want what they think is a good product for the cheapest price, Taiwan is not mainland china & is pretty good quality all around, i have a couple of Taiwanese carbies on my Honda TLR250's for about 10yrs now & they haven't missed a beat .
