Despite no takers (unsurprising given the last minute notice) I decided to make the most of a Friday off work and still make my way to Cobaw.
Even though it's my closest riding spot haven't ventured out there for a while so a bit of exploring was in order.
Started down the branch fireline and although better than what it was last time I rode it the storms and heavy rain a few years back mean lots of big holes to watch out for. Not bad going down but would be a fair challenge climbing up.
Then ventured into the middle of the forest and did some exploring. Found a few new tracks I haven't ridden before but lots of dead ends off the ridgeline. No clean up in this area means turn around and back track is the only way out of some spots.
Found my way through and made it back to ridge Rd before taking the easy way up camp track to go to the other side of the forest. FFMV have been out on the chainsaw and dozer blocking lots of tracks in this area.
Found some of my usual tighter tracks to play on and made my way up towards Burke and wills and the enduro loop up there. Super dry and dusty and seems like this track has copped a workout recently so lots of braking bumps and berms to play on.
3 hours down and out of water decided to head back to the car before I did anything silly.
Good day back on the bike but certainly feeling it now!
